Posted: Thu 08/07/2008 by ramiroI knew there has to be something very big behind Google's Search Engine. And now it is offically confirmed thanks to Dutch design studio Overburen.

Yuil the real Google Killer
Posted: Wed 07/30/2008 by ramiroI just read about Yuil on Google Blogscoped. The idea for Yuil is brilliant. Sam Pullara of Java Rants hacked together this new search service using Yahoo! Search BOSS (Build your Own Search Service) to get at actually useful search results. The service runs on Google App Engine and the interface looks like that of the alleged Google killer cuil. In contrast to the latter you can find what you are looking for with Yuil.
Ecologically Sustainable Search
Posted: Tue 06/26/2007 by ramiroSometime ago I read that it would save quite a lot of energy if Google was using black as the background color of it's search page instead of white. Today I stumbled upon blackgoogle.com. I was looking for an alternative to Google anyway, so I may start with this one.
As an ecologically conscious person I somehow have a better feeling though still using Google. Here are some numbers I found on the ecoIron Blog that legitimate using Black Google as long as there is no better search engine:
Yahoo lists XML Sitemap in SERPs
Posted: Sun 05/20/2007 by ramiroLooking at the logs of a Drupal site I just noticed that Yahoo lists XML Sitemaps in SERPs. On that site the XML Sitemap Drupal module is installed, which automatically generates an XML Sitemap from your content and if you wish also includes the category pages. There are some other quite useful configuration options the module offers and it can be set to write log messages in Drupal's watchdog table.
Is this the Future of Web Search?
